Saturday update

Saw Kate this morning. She has excellent color - apparently she planned in advanced and took in some sun before surgery - always thinking that girl.

She wants all of you to know that Dr. Sugarbaker was very pleased with the surgery - he said it was miracle how well it went.

Her room? Location, location, location - nurses handy by. She walked the loop around her floor this morning, sat in a chair and has a couple more laps to do this afternoon. Her progress is excellent.

She did lose her voice, a fairly common side effect from this type of surgery, but it sounds like the docs are on top of that. Meanwhile she's writing notes and whispering in her sweetie's ear.

Momo, thanks for all the good news. I'm amazed at Kate's recovery and very hopeful. I guess the prayers are working, so lets all keep it up! What a relief!
Kate and Rich, you guys are heroes. What an example! I guess you just do what you gotta do, but I'm impressed.
Suki meanwhile is doing great- on the couch, knee up and watching way too much tv, oh well. Sultan and I had an awesome day yesterday; baseball, playground, WH Library plant and book sale, lunch at the Kidd, biking in Beebe Woods, rope swing into the Punch Bowl, nap on the couch. Susan isn't in alot of pain and we'll get a look at the wound today. She's a brick, and a good patient too.
Love you guys,
Kyle
