Hi all,
We returned to the cape not long ago. Sorry to keep you on pins and needles...or that's right, that was me that was on pins and needles! The procedure today went well. They were able to get a good tissue sample. Not too much pain and really quite technologically fascinating. When I could get out of my own way, it was very intriguing to think about what they were doing. They watch the biopsy process while they are looking at a live CT scan. The Brigham is a teaching hospital, which I think is good. I had a young, (read cute) intervention radiologist fellow doing the procedure. He specializes in thoracic procedures like mine. We had to hang around for a few hours to make sure all was well, no punctured lung, and they finish with chest x-ray to confirm that. I feel as though I have had my radiation exposure for the year or perhaps my lifetime, but I'm guessing there will be more.
Now we wait. Hoping to get some results by Thursday or Friday of this week. Keep that positive energy coming this way. Love to all, Kate

I was checking the blog, hoping for news and voila! It doesn't sound too awful and I'm sure you're glad it's over. The waiting is awful, but there must be a lesson here somewhere. We had chicken tikka masala, raita, squash, nanfor dinner and now Sultan is in the tub. Susan is on a cleaning jag, organizing cookbooks and will try to call.
love and hugs

Hey Kate, you've certainly been through a lot.
I think of you often and especially when at the movies.
I want to warn you off of the disasterous last few movies which were dark, dank and dismal the filmmakers surely had their messages but oooh, baby not any message that resonated with me.
Even one movie I thought well, this has a piquant humor in it because the filmmaker is parodying a certain type of person, until I read the write ups and found that the filmmaker had been entirely in earnest and was not, in fact, mocking the folks in the movie. Well, that then ruined the speck of enjoyment I had found in it.
So, you know how we usually sit still and read the credits after the movie? Well, after one of these pieces of drek, Jayne F. stood up before the credits even rolled and said "That's it. I 've had enough!" Ha. Perfect response.
Well, you take care, my dear. Love, Jayne I.
Hey Katie
Glad to hear things went as well as they could. I will try and give you a call later. Not much to report from the mainland outside of spending my days in a Lexington basement. Oh, and my houseguests leave today. Looking forward to the silence and a little alone time.
love you!

Katie B -
Thank god the intervention radiologist was cute. Some philanthropist who did not get Madoffed needs to invest in hospital ceiling decor.
I am going to keep the good thoughts flowing your way - have not been down because I did not want to send World's Worst Cold germs flowing your way. Will call soon.
I'm glad to hear that a proceedure that could have been incredibly shitty was only crappy. I guess all you need is snazzy technology and a cute technologist.
