Saying goodbye to our friend and sister Kate

Kate Billings's family and friends gathered tonight at Coonamessett Farm under a rain-battered tin roof to say goodbye. People came from across the country for the service and the stories. The service was a simple one, presided over by Kate's friend Nan Bouche, and it included stories of Kate told by Nan and many other friends and family. There were tears, but there was also much laughter. There was good wine, good Jamaican food, good talk, much love shared by everyone. Katie would have loved it.
